Placement of students into ninth grade science courses is done based upon demonstrated ability in science and math (standardized test scores and grades), reading level, and teacher recommendation. It is our philosophy to provide an opportunity for each student to be challenged, yet achieve success in science.

A student who is placed into an honors (H) sequence of courses in science must earn a grade of C or better each semester to continue in the sequence. Under special circumstances, when this prerequisite has not been met, a student may proceed with permission of the Instructional Leader of Science.
