DR. JOHN R. BERRYMAN was a dedicated member of the Rich Central staff for 27 years, during which he served as a physical education teacher and counselor, Director of the Guidance and Student Affairs Office, and a dynamic leader as Rich Central's principal for 20 years. The Board of Rich Central's Parent-Student-Teacher Association (PTSA) acknowledged Dr. Berryman for his dedication not only to maintaining a quality program at Rich Central throughout his tenure, but to his endeavors in the arena of Public Education that should serve as a model to those who also wish to serve. Dr. Berryman believed in a strong Media Center, and because of his strong beliefs, the Media Center grew and developed. As a result, the Board of Education (1988-1999) wanted to publicly recognize the full measure of Dr. Berryman's contribution to Rich Central's well being. Therefore, that the entire 1988-1989 the PTSA Board requested that the Board of Education of District 227 formally change the name of the Rich Central Media Center to the John R. Berryman Media Center. Now all members of this organization, and of the Rich Central Community can recognize and give full honor to the John R. Berryman Media Center.
