Do a subject search using the on-line catalog. Type the following: Chicago (Of course!) You’ll find lots of books in our collection!

Look in the stacks for books cataloged under 917.73, 977.3, 777.3 Don’t forget to check the reference aisle for these same call numbers beginning with R or RS or RB.

Check the general encyclopedias (i.e. World Book, Encyclopedia Americana, Compton’s, and others) by first using the index (usually found in the last volume).

Using the electronic information databases

The best ones to use are:

World Book: Do search on Chicago. Note: Hit F4 to get additional articles on the Chicago after you get to the first one.
SIRS Researcher: Do a search on Chicago to find social issues that are related.
