Mr. Levin’s Hot Resources on the Gilded Age

• Do a subject search using the on-line catalog. Type the following:

United States—History—1865-1898

• Do a keyword search on the on-line catalog. Type the word "Gilded."
• Check the listing from the American Heritage collection.
• Check the specialized encyclopedias in the "Reference Aisle" under RS 973. (Note: Not all of the RS 973s are placed together, but they are in the same area.

• Check the general encyclopedias (i.e. World Book, Encyclopedia Americana, and others) by first using the index (usually found in the last volume).

Using the electronic information databases

World Book: Do search on Gilded Age. Note: Hit F4 to get additional articles on the Gilded Age after you get to the first one.
